Pardon me for getting caught up with street style and not continuing the series on Work Wear. You can read the earlier posts on skirts – here, on dresses – here and the same outfit 2 ways – here. When it comes to choosing accessories for work, we may not find ourselves narrowing our thinking to scarves, pumps, dainty neckpieces, watches and a good bag. This season, it’s time to try a belt. A belt over your outfit instantly give you shape. Wear one at the thinnest part of your waist to look like the sexy figure 8. Here are a few cool ways to adopt this very on trend street style in your formal wardrobe. I promise to update this post with personal style pictures or street style pictures on the busy financial streets of Philadelphia.
Belt over blazer: Wear your blazer like a fitted top & instead of wearing your belt on the inside, wear the belt over your blazer. Even if you are curvier, this will add shape to your outfit. Dress up or down with formal trousers, wide leg pants, skinny pants or even a pencil skirt.
Belt over dress: An A line dress, a pencil fit or something flared, no matter your choice of dress, a belt over it is a great way to add interest and shape to your outfit. If you are not used to wearing belts it can take some time to figure out what size works best. But experiment with it and over time you will find the best choice for you.
Belt over pants: I haven’t tried this personally yet, but I am very intrigued by this style. High waist pants add length and the belt is the best way to complete an outfit. I promise to do an outfit post as soon as I find a good pair of pants! Did you enjoy this post ? What more would you like us to cover in the Work Wear series? Show us some love in comments below!.
