Trends may come and go but white shirt will stay in style forever. There are few wardrobe essentials that I lean on as much as the white shirt. It is versatile for any weather – on a sunny day wear it as a shirt dress and layer it up with jumpers and jacket on chilly days.
Dressed up or down, tucked or knotted, worn with heels or flats, with distressed denim or a tailored suit – It’s the real deal. There are so many different ways, to style a white shirt, it definitely fits the ‘Five Pieces French Wardrobe’ philosophy.
I have been wearing boyfriend’s shirts for years, styling the shirts into different outfits as shirtdress or with well fitted jean or pencil skirts and heels. Especially when am lazy and want an easy going look, something that I just can throw on, feel comfortable and look chic, the white shirt is my go to. The sharp line of the collar gives definition to the jaw and frames the face while the white bounces light upwards brightening the face.
This bespoke TOKYO white shirt from Unit by Rajat Suri from City Scape series SS’17 is my absolute favorite these days. It has graphic print symbolising the city scape of Tokyo. While Rajat makes menswear, this shirt was customized as a shirt dress for me. I love the length as I can wear it tucked in jeans or out as a dress. I wore the shirt with distress jeans and white kicks with a ribbon choker. Let us know in comments below what is your favorite white shirt go to look?
