Maybe it’s age or maybe it is trending everywhere, of late am feeling especially drawn to sari as sartorial choice more than most of my life. From Sabyasachi’s traditional banarasi saris and drapes; to Amit aggarwal and Rimzim Dadu eclectic twist to fabric and drape, sari has a became chart buster at Indian fashion week.
Sari is having it’s moment! Moving past conventional embellishment, heavy borders and pallus of years past to draping styles that are less uniform and alternative blouse options. From trench coats to belts to even plain old T shirt, sari is being styled in every possible way today.
I have earlier worn sari with a grunge twist and T-shirt and brogues. I thought why not continue the series and do more off beat sari styling.
Incorporate jackets or trench coats to your regular sari drape to make it look edgy and perfect for the nip in the air come fall. I choose a military jacket with chanderi sari and biker boots for that extra edge. You can wear a contrast or similar colour Trench coat as well.
Let me know what you think about this style and if i should continue series on sari, in comment below.
