Fashion weeks are a test of stamina, energy and devices! As a blogger, one spends much energy going from show to show, networking with designers, stylists, editors, MAUs, visiting booths to check out clothes and of course partying. All of this, whilst recording and sharing whats going on on stage, behind the scenes and what you wore. All with the objective to share these moments with readers of the blog.
I’ve always wished to have a phone that has a long battery life, can take good photos and videos, looks good and won’t shatter when it inevitably slips from your hand. The idea seemed utopian until I had the Huawei p9 in my hand. But here’s everything I love about this phone, that made it my perfect companion to fashion week.
Look at me! The first thing to love about the Huawei P9; it looks great! Although the slim 6.95 mm thickness of the phone may make it seem dainty, it’s made of aircraft grade aluminum alloy that let’s you be clumsy without a care.
It looks so good, every time I handed the phone over to someone to take my OOTD photo, they would comment on how well the ergonomically designed phone fit in their hand. Almost saw a pang on jealousy in their eyes as they looked back at their larger, thicker devices! I’m just kidding :p, or maybe not.
I also love that the screen on the Huawei P9 is is as big as the phone, so it gives the feeling of a bigger screen without actually being too wide. And there is no camera bump, the back is smooth with the lens embedded inside completely.
Easy to access! The phone features fingerprint access, which seems faster than the phones we used earlier. This has a lo to do with the] 2nd gen Swedish designed FPC fingerprint sensor that powers the Huawei P9. After a few tries, it even unlocks with partial finger prints. Quick learner, this one!
Can go on and on! The battery life is good and we were told should last a couple of days thanks to the 3000mAh battery. I am always hyper connected and a super user of technology. At fashion week you are coordinating with friends, looking up the show schedule, taking photos, taking videos, making phone calls and taking notes! All of this needs a lot of juice! With all of this, the phone lasted through the day without the need to connect to a charger. The battery saver mode allows you to see which apps are hugging up your charge & lets you shut them. So while I can take photos and videos, I don’t need Instagram, snapchat and twitter taking up precious charge. Off they go until I find a place to rest my feet, recharge my phone and post all the happenings on social media.
Captures every detail: Now coming to my favorite feature and something I will continue to write home about is, the camera. The Huawei P9 comes with 2 12MP cameras that are your best friends in this Instaworld. The camera phone is now our eyes to the world and you literally change the way you see the world with the dual cameras that look unique and can replace a DSLR for an amateur. More details about this in my post here
We haven’t looked up the stats, but you might agree that millennials spend more time editing photos of food than eating it! Huawei’s partnership with Leica is probably what makes this phone the most unique on the market! This phone was such a boon this fashion week, it really helped capture moments and memories without a hassle! Took all my photos on the phone. What do you think?
