Indian weddings are all about glamour, loud music, dancing and eating. As a bride or friend of the bride you want to look your best through all these events. In this post, we are covering base make up tips that can help you as an Indian bride to look fabulous throughout the wedding.
Tools and blending – it all starts here , make sure that the tools used to apply makeup which are your blending sponge and other brushes are absolutely clean, if they are not clean your makeup will not look perfect. You wouldn’t want some left over makeup which was used on someone else’s face to be applied to yours . To clean your brushes and blending sponges you can use a gentle shampoo or disinfectant (Isopropyl). This hygienic step will save your skin from any acne and reactions .
Prep And Prime – This should always be the first stage before you start applying makeup. This small yet crucial step will prepare and allow your skin to hold and enhance your make up , so you look ravishing throughout on your big day . Know your skin so you can advice your make up artist to use a suitable one for your skin , i.e if your skin is oily use a only a light weight moisturizer e.g Kiehls Sodium PCA Oil-Free Moisturizer , Simple Skincare Hydrating Light Moisturizer and if your skin is dry you can use a heavier moisturiser Cetaphil ,Clinique moisture surge intense . After moisturizing and before foundation application, apply a Skin Primer to create a smoother, more hydrated surface that’ll hold your makeup in place for long. Some of my favourites are Benefit the POREfessional Face Primer and MAC Mattifying Gel.
Choice Of Foundation – Foundation is applied so that you can get an even skin tone and create a clean canvas for the rest of your make up , when your face is one colour and your neck another , you know your foundation is wrong . Use 2 shades closest to your own skin type, apply it on your jaw line and see it in natural light , this is the best way to find out the perfect shade for you . Foundation that disappears into your skin is the right colour . Weddings can make you cry so make sure all your makeup is water proof so when you leave the ceremony even your teary pictures will look beautiful .
Concealer – Indian weddings are a big long affair , we have so many ceremonies cramped up into one small timeline, dancing , making merry and late nights do take up your energy and make you tired leaving you with dark circles , Concealer can hide those circles, but unfortunately many women use a shade that’s much too light for their skin tone. This results in the appearance of white circles around your eyes, and the look is much more obvious in photographs. Your concealer should be no more than one shade lighter than your skin. You can also use a colour corrector to rectify the dark circles. one of my favourite is the Kryolan 303 apply this under your eyes along with a tad bit of your foundation and you have yourself smooth even skin tone even under your tired eyes .
