Declaration- I love work dresses! Once I started blogging, I started experimenting with clothes not only in personal life but also at work. Pushing the button down shirts and straight pants way back in my wardrobe and making space for skirts, dresses and blazers.
No matter what industry you work in, a work dress is a great way to pep up your confidence and style-o-meter at work.
I already blogged about how to pick a perfect skirt, the rules to pick a dress stay similar. Here are some quick tips on picking the right dress:
1. If you are fuller on top, adding a belt at the waist has a slimming effect. Choose a basic one for work or experiment with a pop of color on a single colored dress
2. The fit on your shoulders is key, you don’t want droopy necklines and sleeves to distract you.
3. If you are heavier on the bottom, add layers – a well fitted blazer will take away attention from a big posterior.
My dear friend Damini Oberoi was gracious enough to let us have a sneak peak in her work wardrobe.
As founder of a PR and Event Management company, Damini spends time meeting prospective clients through her day. being impeccably dressed is essential.
I too love ‘dressing up’ at work and wore a basic black dress with peachy off white blazer.
I am wearing: Basic black dress: Mango |Pastel Blazer: Mango | Heels: Charlotte Russe |Bag: Michael Kors | Neck piece: Gifted
