Being a woman, you are subject to prejudice on a daily basis.
You are often subject to ‘If you speak to men, you must have a lose character’,’you got the job, deal or project because you are a woman’, ‘women can’t drive’, ‘you are married, but you can’t cook?’ and the list goes on!
Social norms have a negative connotation for me… It’s like being an actor with a role, a script and being told how to enact your life to fit a defined image or character. While our peer group mindset is probably changing, the rest of the world continues to look and judge you on a regular basis.
Both Sneaky and I are so fortunate to have the support of friends and family who support our instinct to do what we want!
I am confident that you will agree that the definition of being a beautiful woman has always been tall, slim and has long shiny hair. Does sporting a short crop make me less of a woman? Make me less attractive?
People who define beauty, please BUTT OUT, I wear thick rimmed glasses and a short crop and still am woman enough!
All you ladies out there, wear glasses or lenses because you like it. Cut your hair colour it, wear what you like because when you are happy you are pretty! Your awesomeness is not defined by standards set by the world!.
