The last weekend was our third visit to the happiest place to be in Pune that weekend – the NH7 weekender. Our love for music & dancing, discovering new artists, meeting old friends and making new friends draws us back each year. The first year, we discussed the idea of Moda Ninja. The second we blogged about what people wore to the festival and this year we were so busy thumping our feet that we barely got pictures of what we wore, let alone the others!
Festival dressing needs to be
1. Comfortable – This is a no brainer! Dancing for hours, walking between stages, sitting on the lawns, all of this is hard work! Being comfy is key – so no heels!
2. Hippie – Music festivals take us back to this time of counterculture and hence a great place to experiment with your style.
3. Spunky, Quirky & Experimental – Try a new trend, experiment with your looks or just pull out your quirkest outfit; that is what music festival are for.
One may not always have what it takes in your own wardrobe. So we followed the old age bride’s rule of – something old, something borrowed, something new!
Keeping these basics in mind, we put together our looks for the festival
Without her Sneaky little partner, Cheeky kept it simple in a black romper which she had stolen from Sneaky’s wardrobe. Not a fan of jewellery that will come in the way while dancing, she just wore turquoise shoes (also worn on day 2) and a simple turquoise bracelet also worn here
Day 2: Both Sneaky and Cheeky have something borrowed!
Inspired by the ramp and the collections at LFW A/W where fusion was the middle name of fashion, Sneaky gave LBD desi twist. She wore an old dress removing the embellishments and converting it into a plain black dress, kutchi mirrorwork vest borrowed from a friend and paired it with bindi, bangles and embroidered bag from Limeroad.
Cheeky is still in love with summer trends. She borrowed Sneaky’s high low skirt (worn here), paired it with a purple tube (all new) and her favourite old waist belt from Vero Moda. The sun glasses bought the 60s back!
Day 3: Cover up!
Nothing says glamour like sequin, nothing plays it down like a pair of harem pants. Cheeky inspired by Sneaky’s fusion wear look on day 2, wore a pair of tie and dye harem pants with sequin crop top. Bringing together the look was a waist belt and comfortable gold chappals!
Sometimes mixing different outfit gives you a brand new outfit; Sneaky paired her anchor printed romper with a maxi skirt and a hot pink belt for a pop of color! Feathered earrings shouted hippie and rounded up the weekend!
